Raeena Lari

 

Raeena Lari is first Pakistani-American and the first Muslim elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Education, elected in the 2022 General elections, where she is on the Budget Committee, Policy Development Committee, Strong Start Coalition, and Head Start Policy Councils. She is an Executive Board Member of the League of Women Voters Bay Area and a delegate to the League of Women Voters California Convention 2023.

Raeena is also a Board Member, Acting Treasurer and Secretary of Our City Forest. She is a Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee Alternate to a US Congressperson, and a Democratic State Central Committee Delegate (where she is a member of the Progressive and Disabilities Caucuses), elected by the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee. Recently, she became a member of the inaugural Nonprofit Leadership Circle, Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

She is an advocate for raising awareness and funding for better diagnostics and therapeutics for Tick borne diseases and runs a support group for impacted individuals. In the past, she has been a County of Santa Clara Health Advisory Commissioner and a Family Leadership Council Member for Pitzer College. Raeena has worked in Karachi as a Research Economist for the National Development Finance Corporation, and at the World Bank as a Research Assistant, while studying at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
