Syeda Henna Babar Ali Joins APF

The American Pakistan Foundation is exceptionally proud to announce that Syeda Henna Babar Ali has joined APF as an Ambassador-at-Large. As APF Ambassador-at-Large, Ms. Ali will assume a portfolio focused on mentorship, cultivating women's entrepreneurship, knowledge sharing, and educational exchange between the United States and Pakistan. 

A pioneer in business, education, and U.S.-Pakistan cultural exchange, Ms. Ali is currently Chairperson of DIC Pakistan Limited, a joint venture between Packages Limited and Japan’s DIC Corporation. She sits on the Board of Governors and chairs the Management Committee at the Ali Institute of Education.

With her life-long commitment to mentorship and education, Ms. Ali has cultivated talent and leadership in Pakistan on an impressive scale, creating a positive impact where it’s needed the most. With her leadership, APF hopes to expand its footprint in Pakistan and create more opportunities for Americans and Pakistanis to learn from one another.

Ms. Ali has spent decades promoting increased access to higher learning for women in Pakistan.  Her passionate advocacy for education is reflected in her own intellectual pursuits; she holds degrees from the University of Punjab and the University of Michigan, and has completed professional development courses at Stanford University, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Cornell University, and more.

Ms. Ali is a highly accomplished poet and musical composer in both English and Urdu. She penned her first Urdu poem at age nine. She has written ten books of poetry and is widely published internationally. She was awarded the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal in recognition of her contributions to English-language poetry.
