Awais Khan - President and CEO
As President and CEO of APF, Awais Khan engages and galvanizes the Pakistani-American diaspora, civil society, private sector, and public sector to mobilize financial and intellectual resources for economic development and social change in Pakistan. He is also collaborating with the U.S. Government for civilian assistance programs in Pakistan.

Mr. Khan has a wide range of experience in the private and public sector. Previously, he was a Partner at Ackrell Capital, an investment bank specializing in early stage investments, placements, and cross border joint ventures. He was the chair of several venture forums and is on the board of Cleantech Jobs Fund. Prior to that, he held senior positions with the Venture Capital Practice at KPMG, Dimension Data and Hewlett Packard.

Mr. Khan holds a bachelor of computer engineering from California State University and an MBA from the London School of Economics, NYU Stern School of Business and HEC, Paris.


Misbah Naqvi - Vice President, Business Development and Communications
As Vice President, Business Development and Communications, Misbah leads APF’s efforts in building an engaged community of funders and supporters for APF’s work, especially amongst the Pakistani American diaspora.

Misbah joins APF from Acumen Fund, a not-for-profit venture fund that invests patient capital in businesses that deliver critical, affordable goods and services to the poor in South Asia and East & West Africa. Misbah focused on identifying and managing portfolio investments and then leading Acumen Fund’s community building, development and knowledge and communications activities in Pakistan. She subsequently moved to Acumen Fund’s New York office as Business Development Manager. Previously, Misbah spent over eight years in a variety of positions at Citigroup Pakistan, including as Public Affairs Officer, where her responsibilities included managing communications and public relations as well as community affairs, including the bank’s support for development initiatives in Pakistan. Prior to that, Misbah managed institutional relationships for Citigroup’s Corporate Banking Group in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical sectors.

Misbah serves on the Board of Advisors of Invest2Innovate (i2i), a global social enterprise intermediary that connects investors with social entrepreneurs focused on building sustainable enterprises in emerging markets.

Misbah grew up in Pakistan and holds an MBA and a BA (Honors) from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Karachi, Pakistan.
